Evocative Photographs celebrating England's beautiful north country

About Allan Potts

Allan Potts has been involved in wildlife photography for the past forty years, self taught, his feeling for nature and the variety of animal species is one of great interest. Being a farmer and also a wildlife photographer brings him much closer to nature. To escape into the world of wildlife, for Allan, is a feeling like no other, to a certain extent nature lives at his own back door.

His book Natural North documents the diverse natural history of the North East of England. Many of his images are used by photographic libraries for books, calendars and postcards, and has received a number of highly commended awards for his natural history audio visual presentations. His most memorable commission was flying with the R.A.F down to the Falkland Islands on two occasions, to photograph the wildlife of the South Atlantic.

A Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and also a life member of the Whitley Bay Photographic Society, he has achieved grate distinction in his work in the natural world writing articles for magazines and working as a freelance photographer.

Allan brings about his artistic interpretation in photography, his signed limited edition fine art prints, give a new feeling to his work with computer imaging, indeed, the perfection of print quality that is achieved is combined to a very high standard with today's photographic technology, that reveals an added dimension in a most interesting way.
