"Broomlee Lough, Sewingshields Crags, Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland" by Roger Clegg
Catalogue number: HW180B
Under the western end of Sewingshields Crags is Broomlee Lough. The Great Whin Sill Fault gives rise to the succession of crags that characterise the Central Section of Hadrian's Wall. The fault line is the meeting point of two ancient continents. The raised strata can be easily seen form this location.
