Sycamore Gap, Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland

"Sycamore Gap, Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland " by Roger Clegg

Catalogue number: HW387PLUSB2

Sycamore Gap, often refered to as Robin Hood's Tree, with the last of the light on midsummer's night. Even then walkers are still making their way to their resting place for the night. A photograph that took 2 years for the conditions to be just right. This photograph by Roger Clegg has been recognised by the "Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year" competition, winning the Northumberland National Park Authority Best Image Prize. Sycamore Gap is the most distinctive feature of Hadrian's Wall at the southern end of the Northumberland National Park, it gives an almost graphic image of this iconic and most recognisable landmark.
